Richard Hayward has lived in Boulder since 1956. In this interview he describes his early life in Terre Haute, Indiana; his service in the Navy; and his move to Boulder soon after his marriage to Beth Hayward. Active in the First United Methodist Church since his arrival in Boulder, Richard has remodeled, upgraded, spearheaded additions to, and maintained many of the church buildings and the church-owned buildings in the surrounding neighborhood. He details the uses of the various buildings and the work done to improve their safety and usefulness.
